These days we are inundated with stuff; the to do lists, meetings to attend, emails or text to respond to, calls to make, family to take care off, social media to sneak to every now and then, the list goes on. At times, the mundane can be too overwhelming, and even leave you feeling exhausted and uninspired. With all the daily to dos, one can barely get a moment alone to do the creative work, and this can leave you living the lifeless life as you move from day to today with no time to create your best work where you come alive and share your gifts and live a more fulfilling life.

For this to happen, you will need to bring to bear all the wonderful ideas in your head and manifest them as products or services solutions as value creations. To do so, it is imperative you harness and master the basics, maneuver distractions, and command your creative thumbprint to take charge even when you are uninspired. Therefore, the next time you find yourself overwhelmed, stressed and wondering where to start, remember being attuned to your state of being is a great place to start. So, what is one to do? Here are a few tips on how to nature and nourish your creative genius within, and on to being in your best self:

  1. Journal or draw: Take that journal or diary if you still keep one. Pen down or scribe all your thoughts, and I promise you will free lighter and joyous afterwards if you allow yourself to freely spew all that is in your mind in writing.
  2.  Read your best biographies: There are million and one compilations out there, so decide who is your favorite, and burry yourself in their story. You will be inspired to know you are not the first one to confront overwhelming thoughts or stress.
  3. Take a walk or exercise: Changing your biochemistry is one of the most helpful undertaking, and has health benefits that comes with the practice. Take a jog, a walk around your neighborhood you might even loose a few pounds while at it. Moreover, you will feel alive and energized after the fact.
  4. Give yourself to another: Giving is living… when you reach out to others with the intent to make their lives better even though you may not feel qualified to do so in the beginning you’ll realize how much plenty you have later on. This is perhaps one of the most brilliant and most rewarding way to refocus your self to who you really are and were meant to be—a life-giving source! So, go give…give a smile, a laughter, a lending hand or ear, just get out of your own head!
  5. Nap: Sleep over whatever overwhelming thoughts that seem to nag at you. Often, we are just tired and taking a few minutes to regroup will leave you calm, energized thus freeing your mind and nerves to attend to important staff. You never know, you may even end up with new ideas when you wake up.
  6. Gratitude Exercise: Think and speak out of all that you are grateful for. Be keen to acknowledge the giver of all good things—the object of your gratitude—the Creator of all things in the universe. Gratitude unlocks contentment and abundance as one realizes how much they already have.
