Whenever someone asks me what I do for a living? I humbly respond with excitement that I show professionals how to work in flow state: do work you love, gain control of your time, work schedule and life balance—so you can live stress free and spend time with your loved ones! I find that although curios some people either don’t believe my answer or are lost in the simplicity of it.  I find the reason for this is because they probably have heard this message before and to them it sound cliché. Cliché or not, great luminaries like Einstein believed this truth—that what you do naturally (intuitively) is a sacred gift and an indication of your true affinities.

Embracing this message as my true calling has been a life’s journey and still is. My greatest lessons thus far has been the realization of how each person’s life come mapped out into that which is uniquely theirs whether they know it or not. Granted, knowing and embracing this truth is undoubtedly characterized by emotions such as pain, challenges, frustration, fear, insecurities and pleasure all of which are part of the rigor into decoding one’s unique path.

For many years, I heard the same cliché message—follow your passion and money will follow, but when I looked around me other conflicting messages like: passion is great but it does not pay any bills landed me into frustrations as I struggled between the two ideals. The thought of balance between how to make a living while at the same time follow my passion seemed unfounded. Today, I have reached a place of self-acceptance, and by this I mean, the reality of what is and what could be. Something that came to me one day as I reflected.  It was as if, an entity (separate from me) had invaded my mind, and asked me questions and provided answers to the same questions.

Frankly, I didn’t know what to make of this but rather I jotted down whatever flowed, and as I did a clear path surfaced. Suddenly, I had hit a well of bountiful treasure within my soul. Since, the path for me was certain, I soon realized that the pieces were before me on how to chart the course between the sacred gift (intuitive mind) and the rational mind (the learned skills). It is here that I owned all my uniqueness: my good, my bad and my in between. Simply put, I knew how to align my passions—the things I love to do or that come natural to me aka my gifts, my presence—the essence of my unique self and my potential—my abilities—into creating value.

As I said earlier, most people I meet seem very curious and want to know how they can do what they love without being stressed or going broke, and my response to them is the same as I received from the divine entity—only you can determine what kind of life you want, why you want, how to attain it, and how much you are willing to give up or undergo to attain it. I believe this is the wisdom expressed in Einstein’s quote above. Only you can determine if you will allow your rational mind to remain a faithful servant in serving your current needs or if you’ll step out into the unknown possibilities where your sacred gifts serves your current needs—after all, your soul already knows what you are abundantly endowed with!  My question to you is if not now, then when?  Remember, no one lives forever?
